You Look Okay To Me is a semi-autobiographical performance based around the experience of invisible illness. It’s a theatrical autopsy of one woman’s struggle with chronic pain, medical neglect and unending ill health. Through the use of absurdism, dark humour and moments of vulnerability the audience are invited to examine how invisible suffering can be misunderstood. By externalising the internal experience of long-term illness the performance hopes to raise awareness and give insight to the challenges chronically ill people face on a daily basis.
